Visualization types
Charts, summary views, pivot tables and tabular views. They are built by dragging and dropping columns; suggestions on which visual fits the data can be had as well.
Zoho Analytics is the self-service business intelligence platform that gathers data from different systems in one workspace, combines it and turns it into reports. Databases, files, cloud storage and business applications are connected; tables are related to each other, calculated fields and SQL queries are built, and the result turns into charts and dashboards. A finished report is shared under permission rules, delivered by scheduled email or embedded inside another application. Most Zoho applications come with a ready-made connector and a set of ready-made reports specific to that application.
BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE
Zoho Analytics gathers data from different systems in a single workspace. Files, databases, cloud storage and business applications are connected; tables are related to each other and used together in the same report.
No code is needed to build a report in Zoho Analytics: columns are dragged and dropped, a visualization type is picked. For preparation work, query tables and calculated fields sit underneath. A finished report is shared under permission rules, delivered by scheduled email or embedded inside another application.
DATA
Analytics works on a workspace: data comes here first, and the report is built afterwards. The connection method and preparation steps vary by source; no project uses all of the following.
Local files such as CSV and Excel, spreadsheets in cloud drives and data feeds read from a web address are imported. The import can be one-time or repeated at a set interval.
Relational databases, data lakes and data warehouses are connected. There are two ways: syncing the data into Analytics at regular intervals, or connecting live to the source and running the query on the source itself.
Zoho applications such as CRM, Desk, Books, Projects and People, and common sales, marketing, accounting, support and advertising services outside Zoho are added with ready-made connectors. Most of these connectors come with ready-made reports and dashboards specific to that application the moment they are set up.
For an application not on the list, the no-code connector builder or, on the developer side, the SDK is used. Data from a system you wrote yourself enters the same workspace too.
With the visual pipeline builder, data is cleaned, reformatted, merged and enriched. Transformations are applied without code; the prepared pipeline is saved and runs again on every data arrival.
Tables in the workspace are linked to each other with lookup columns. Tables from different sources are used together in the same report over this relationship; there is no need to merge data by hand.
A new data view is built with standard SQL SELECT: filtering, stacking multiple data sets, joining tables and common table expressions are supported. A report can be built on top of a query table, and even another query table can be written on it.
A formula column adds a derived column to the table. An aggregate formula calculates at group level and is used as a measure in reports. A report formula lives only inside the report it was built in.
ANALYSIS
No code is needed to build a report: columns are dragged and dropped, a visualization type is picked. For work that calls for code, the query table and formula layer is already underneath.
Charts, summary views, pivot tables and tabular views. They are built by dragging and dropping columns; suggestions on which visual fits the data can be had as well.
Multiple reports are gathered on a single dashboard. Tabbed layouts, formatted text blocks, images and KPI widgets are added; the layout is arranged by drag and drop.
Small boxes showing a single number, the status against a target or a trend. They are used as the summary layer in the top strip of the dashboard; the detail stays in the reports below.
Data broken down by country, region or city is read on a map. It is colored by the measure value, and the level of breakdown can be changed.
Drilling down, applying contextual filters, viewing tooltips and opening the raw rows behind a chart. A new question is usually asked on top of the existing report, without building a new one.
You ask Zia a question in a sentence; in return, a report or KPI widget is produced. Follow-up questions deepen the same topic, and it proceeds in conversation form.
Zia Insights summarizes the trends and notable changes in a data set in narrative form. Auto analysis produces a draft of ready-made reports and dashboards for a data set, and you work on top of it.
Forecast models that look at past data, outlier detection, clustering and what-if analysis are among the platform's own components. For building your own model there is also a no-code model builder and a Python code environment.
SHARING
In Zoho Analytics, sharing does not mean opening the data as it is. Who can see what and what they can do is defined at the moment of sharing; the same report can open with different data for different people.
Access is granted to an individual user or to a group. Administrator, user and view-only roles are separate; a person in the viewer role cannot build or share reports.
When sharing, permissions such as read, export and drill-down are granted separately. It is also possible to share a table not in full but only with the columns you choose.
A filter criterion is defined when sharing: the report is the same, but each user sees only their own rows. When a variable is used in the criterion, the value fills in according to the person opening the report; there is no need to build a separate report per person.
Reports and dashboards are sent by email at a set interval. Tabular views can also be delivered as data files; the recipient does not need a Zoho account.
A condition is attached to a report, and the platform checks that condition at the frequency you set. When the condition is met, a notification goes out; a workflow can be triggered as well if desired. Repeating alerts can be suppressed.
A report can be published at a public address or embedded in your own web page or application. In an embedded setup, the session is resolved through the single sign-on API or SAML.
Dashboards can be gathered in an analytics portal that opens under your own brand. Reports are also presented in slideshow form; instead of sharing a screen in a meeting, the live report is shown.
Data and report operations are run from outside with the platform's REST API and SDKs. There is also an MCP server; AI clients can use Analytics tools through it.
Most of the time the need for a report is not about a single chart but about where the data comes from. The examples below show this.
PROBLEM
Order data sits in marketplace panels, ad spend in separate interfaces, accounting records in another program. Profitability by channel is merged by hand at month end.
SOLUTION
Each source connects to the same Zoho Analytics workspace with its own connector, and tables are related. Dashboards broken down by channel and product are delivered by scheduled email; which source a number comes from is clear inside the report.
PROBLEM
Each branch keeps its own spreadsheet; when management wants a comparison, it waits for the files to be collected. A branch manager must not see another branch's data.
SOLUTION
Branch data is gathered in a single table, and the comparison report is built once. With row-level security the same report is opened to everyone; a manager sees only their own branch's rows.
PROBLEM
The reports inside Zoho CRM see only CRM data. Sales needs to be read together with support tickets and collection status.
SOLUTION
CRM, Desk and Books connect to the same workspace; tables are related over the shared customer field. Sales, support and collections sit side by side on one dashboard, and an alert rule flags the deviation.

Managing a healthcare group with seven branches, the hardest part was seeing the whole picture. Each branch kept its own records and the same patient's data lived in different places. Two and a half years ago we moved to Zoho CRM with our Zoho Authorized Partner İsa Demirci and his team, and that picture changed. Today all seven branches run on a single system. I follow the entire group from one screen, while branches and teams see only their own areas through role-based permissions. The question of what a patient experienced at which branch is now answered by the system itself, not by phone traffic. Two and a half years is not a short time. The system has run reliably throughout, and whenever we needed him, İsa Bey was always reachable. We wholeheartedly recommend them to any multi-site healthcare organisation.
In health tourism the patient journey is long and has many steps: the first message, the assessment, the quote, travel, treatment day and the follow-ups after it. Working with Eksenium, we did not have to explain this journey to them from scratch. Without us telling them, they knew which information must not get lost at which stage, and where patients wait and where they drop off; our conversations were always about the details of our own business.
Eksenium is one of Zoho's Authorized Partners in Türkiye. You can see our listing, certifications and client reviews in Zoho's partner directory.

CRM's report module sees only CRM data. Zoho Analytics is a separate platform: it gathers data from applications such as CRM, Desk and Books, from databases, files and services outside Zoho in the same workspace, and combines them in a single report. Layers such as relationships between tables, SQL query tables, calculated fields, row-level security and scheduled email are found here too.
